Who We Are
Waysyders is a gender affirming swim and activewear brand. We create quality garments focused on elevating the performance and experience of the wearer with an emphasis on inclusivity and community.Â
Founder, Dylan Williamson, began working on the Waysyders concept in early 2020, a project catalyzed by years of altering pre-existing garments to adjust fit for affirming use. A childhood spent in lycra, neoprene and gore-tex as an (at times competitive) surfer, skier, cyclist, runner and climber showed Dylan that oftentimes high-end activewear designed to enhance human performance was completely irrelevant if it wasn’t comfortable, built to last and affirming. Â
At Waysyders we know that quality and trust are at the root of not just performance, but experience. Built into our model is an extensive testing period, where we go through multiple fittings and prototype to create designs that accommodate a range of identities and bodies the reflect our community.
Community designed
Our community led design practice keeps our customers at the center of each piece we design. Through extensive surveys, phone interviews and social polls we never make a choice around a garment without letting our community get first say. Want to get involved in our community?
CONNECTAffirming materials
We seek materials that not only enhance an individual’s performance, but their experience. According to our research, people are 75% less likely to participate in an activity if the garment they are wearing does not align with their chosen identity. At Waysyders, we select materials that seek to enhance certain features and minimize others in accordance with the wearer’s wants. For example, neoprene is naturally compressive so we utilize that application in garments designed to minimize. Learn more about our materials.
OUR SIZING GUIDEWaysyders Events
We continually host in person opportunities for people to gather together, shop and spend time with the Waysyders community. At these events we welcome in person feedback in addition to in person fittings. Waysyders is more than performance enhancing.
